American Summits announced today that it is the official water sponsor for the 2013 Citi OpenSM, the capital tennis tradition for 45 years. The tournament, which brings world-class players annually to the District, will be held July 27 – Aug. 4.
Washington Metropolitan Area residents know all too well that with summer comes the humidity. The refreshing and clean taste of American Summits water from Wyoming’s pristine Beartooth Mountain peaks is sure to keep fans and players cool and hydrated throughout the week of the tournament.
“Hydration is key for any summer event — not just for the athletes, but all attendees — so it is important to have the right event partners on board,†said Jeff Newman, Citi Open Tournament Director. “We’re thrilled to have such a premium brand as American Summits commit to the event, and we’re looking forward to a longstanding relationship for years to come.â€
As a restaurateur, frustrated that virtually all premium glass-bottled mineral waters were imported to the U.S., Lajaunie set out on a years-long search for the best mountain wilderness spring in the United States. He came upon the ideal source in the remote Beartooth Mountain range above Clark, Wyoming, and American Summits was born in 2011. The fast growing brand is now available in major U.S. cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas and Washington D.C., among other markets.
American Summits water is organically filtered through layers of mountain granite and mechanically filtered to remove fine particulates a process that leaves traces of beneficial minerals. Low in sodium, each liter of American Summits water contains 65 mg of calcium, 16 mg of magnesium and 1.4 mg of potassium.
